"How to create your
meditation sanctuary?"

Ideally any place can be your meditation sanctuary.

The only problem is, as human being, we tend to associate activities with the environment…like for example you will associate the kitchen with cooking and food and not sleeping.

So it helps to create a meditation sanctuary for your session.

This personal space will soon acquire a conducive ambient for meditation and relaxation that you can settle in quickly because of the inviting therapeutic atmosphere.

Be it wherever you are using as your sanctuary, you should:

  • Clear the junks cluttering the place (if any).
  • Keep the space simple. If you must, decorate, keep It simple.
  • Open the windows and allow fresh air to replace the stale and stagnant air and energy inside the room.
  • Keep the room at comfortable temperature but well aired.

These are the absolute minimum thing you got to do.




But if you want to do a thorough job preparing this space, you can do energy cleansing…


Here’s the crystal way…

  • Select a large single terminal clear quartz for this activity.
  • Cleanse, Charge, your crystal.
  • Ground yourself.
  • Stand in the centre of the room and hold the crystal on your right hand with the terminal pointing outwards.
  • When you feel sufficiently relax, create a protective shield for yourself by first visualizing a white glowing light source originating from your heart and see the white glowing light moving towards your right shoulder, arm , hand and enumerated out from the crystal.
  • Draw a rectangular and enclose yourself within this protective shield. Visualize this shield fully enclosed yourself and surrounding you with white light.
  • Take a few deep breath, focus.
  • Begin to draw energy from this bright light via your crown chakra down to your body until you energy are flowing strongly and freely in your entire body.
  • In a sweeping motion, send these energies of clearing over the entire space. Pay attention to corners and areas where you see the potential that energy may stagnate.
  • The whole process may range from a couple of minutes to slightly over an hour. It depends very much on the negativity and disharmony of the space.
  • End your clearing session with a figure of eight drawn in the centre of the room.
  • Ground yourself.
  • Cleanse your crystal.

What you must do to create a comfy & cosy
meditation sanctuary…


You can consider…

  • Adding an altar where you can place your crystals upon to attract your gaze and relax your mind.
  • Using meditation mats, meditation pillows, cushion (Zafus) and small meditation benches. These can help to take stress off your knee joints and sensitive backs.
  • Playing relaxation music in the background OR have a small mechanical fountain to provide peaceful sound of flowing water to let you feel the embracement of nature.
  • Using the power of scents. Fill your room with a pleasant fragrance to put you in a relaxed yet attentive state. That’s right! Aromatherapy.
A lot of preparation work huh?

I prefer to give you as much as possible but finally it is up to you to decide how far you want to go and how much you are willing to spend to create your own sanctuary.

For the minimum, keep it cosy. :)




The last tip that you must know…


When it seems that you have hit a meditation plateau, cleanse the energy of the room again.
