6 Spiritual Grounding Techniques

You will find numerous spiritual grounding techniques that you can adopt.

From simple technique that take less than 2 minutes to complete to comprehensive ones that can take up to 20 minutes.

We all have different needs and I want to make sure visitors to my site are taken care of. :)

Moreover, there is no single universal method that works on everyone so take your time to explore the techniques and decide on a suitable one.


Simple Spiritual Grounding Techniques

Stamped your feet, drink a glass of water or carry a grounding crystal is the simplest grounding methods.

For crystals, you may like to choose from Obsidian, Black Tourmaline, Smoky Quartz or Jet. These stones have a good reputation as grounding stones. Consider them!





Comprehensive Spiritual Grounding Techniques

Here I will share 3 techniques. The first relies on good creative visualization skill while the next two use crystal as a grounding tool. Again, your choice to decide which one you prefer.


Technique 1

Perform this exercise when seated on the chair with your back straight and feet flat on the floor.

Begin by focusing on your breathing.

Be aware of your own body and the various points where tension are trapped. Feel the tension gathering in your chest stomach. These are tension from your toes, legs, your hips, the lower back and solar plexus.

Feel the tension rising up the chest, neck, jaw and out through your nostrils in the form of smoke with every exhalation.

Work next on your upper limbs as tension move from the fingers, hands, arms up the neck and out of you through each exhalation. Finally, feel the tensions, stress, negative emotions sinking downwards from the forehead and be freed as you release them in the form of smoke into the air through exhalation.

Visualize a sphere of white incandescent light above your crown chakras. With each inhalation, you draw the light into your body as if the way you would with fresh air.

Absorb the energy with each in breathe and through your crown chakras. Feel the warmth relaxing your forehead, face and all the way down to every single part of your body.

Now there is nothing but the white light circulating through your body system. See yourself glowing in white light.

You are rejuvenated and refreshed now.

Looking at your feet with your mind’s eye. You see roots growing from the sole of your feet into the ground, anchoring you onto the very spot.

Feel your unwanted emotions transforming into the excessive energies and see it seeping out from your soles into the ground.

Focus on the breathing once again and become aware of your body, beware of the chair you are sitting on, listen to the sound from the surrounding.

Returning slowly to consciousness by counting down from 10 to 1 and when you are ready open your eyes.


Technique 2

If you have read about Using Crystal as Meditation Tool, you may have realized that meditating with a grounding stone is an effective way to stay grounded and at the same time, you can reap the benefits of meditation.

Let me elaborate the technique further for clarity.

  1. Sit upright on a chair. Avoid crossing any part of your body.
  2. Make sure to keep your spine straight and feet flatly on the floor. Wearing socks is okay but do take off your shoes.
  3. Place one grounding stone on each hand.
  4. Relax and feel the energy flowing down your body through your spine out from your base chakras and legs into the floor.
  5. Stay in position for 20 minutes.
  6. When done, open your eyes unhurriedly and continue with your activities.
  7. Cleanse & Charge your crystals for the next session.




Technique 3

Another technique using crystals.

  • Follow step 1 and 2 in technique 2.
  • Place a suitable stone between your thighs and close to your base chakras. You can use any grounding crystal suggested above.
  • Close your eyes, breathe naturally, relax and let the stone does its job.
  • Follow step 5 to 7 in technique 2.

Some people have difficulty visualizing. That’s perfectly fine. In this case those spiritual grounding techniques using crystals as grounding tool may be more appropriate.

Nonetheless, it’s still crucial to stay focus throughout the session. Bring the awareness and attention to the crystals then.
